*Most course activity is done online, but there are some required face-to-face instructional activities. Reliable access to the internet and a computer/laptop is required.

This program will train you to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). CCMAs work in physicians’ offices or inpatient settings, where they help physicians carry out procedures, care for patients, perform basic lab tests, and administer medications. The course includes 205 hours of classroom instruction and 80 hours at an off-site externship, totaling 285 hours of comprehensive learning.

Externships are scheduled from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. 91自拍 will complete their coursework online asynchronously. Skills/Lab Day will be held in person on select Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additionally, students will meet with the Clinical/Externships Coordinator on select Saturdays via Microsoft Teams throughout the program. You will need access to a personal computer/laptop and the internet for this class

Upon successful completion, graduates will receive a certificate of completion and become eligible to sit for the certification exam offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

  • Describe the basic function of each body system.
  • Utilize medical terminology in written and spoken communications.
  • Define medical terminology found in medical records.
  • Define medical conditions, diseases and disorders commonly treated.
  • Perform the procedures for rooming a patient.
  • Obtain the vital signs of a patient.
  • Perform basic wound care.
  • Demonstrate proper positioning and draping for patient procedures.
  • Demonstrate first aid for disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Demonstrate the collection of specimens.
  • Locate information regarding medications.
  • Demonstrate the administration of oral and injectable medications.
  • Instruct patients in preventative health practices.
  • Assist physicians with examinations.
  • Demonstrate minor specimen testing and recording of results.
  • Assist physicians with EKG/ECG tests.
  • Demonstrate skill in goal setting, organization, note taking and test taking.
  • Use communication strategies associated with quality customer service.
  • Draft a resume that clearly communicates one’s value to an employer.
  • Contrast effective communication approaches.
  • Use listening, mirroring and parameter setting in difficult conversations.

Attendance Policy

The Clinical Medical Assistant program requires 85% attendance to successfully complete. Attendance will be taken at each meeting.

No, Pell Grants and federal student aid cannot be used to pay for our continuing education programs. We strongly encourage students to complete their FAFSA, and apply for the Texas Public Educational Grant (TPEG).

The Texas Public Educational Grant (TPEG) is a state-funded program designed to assist Texas residents with financial need in covering the costs of higher education at public colleges and universities in Texas. 91自拍 must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. If approved, TPEG will cover 50% of the tuition for eligible WCE programs.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are nationally recognized to record satisfactory completion of certain approved occupationally related programs. Generally one CEU is awarded for each 10 contact hours of instruction included in a specified continuing education program or activity. Successful completion is grade and attendance-based. Eighty percent attendance is required for most classes, but some require 100 percent attendance. Individuals who register for and successfully complete our courses are awarded CEUs.
