Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Commissioner Representing Employers Joe Esparza visited 91自拍 Thursday to present ceremonial checks totaling more than $1.6 million in Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grants to 91自拍 and five other educational institutions across the North Central Texas region.

The JET program provides funding to help schools purchase and install equipment needed to train students for high-demand occupations.

Grant recipients include:

  • 91自拍: $224,136 to train 20 students as mechanics.
  • Academy Independent School District (ISD): $330,535 to train 218 students as licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses in partnership with 91自拍.
  • Blooming Grove ISD: $314,047 to train 16 students as licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses in partnership with Navarro College.
  • Hill College: $260,870 to train 96 students as truck drivers.
  • Navarro College: $349,009 to train 100 students as mechanics.
  • Rice ISD: $134,671 to train 90 students as registered nurses in partnership with Navarro College.

Through funding provided by the Texas Legislature each biennium, TWC uses JET grants to defray start-up costs of developing or expanding career and technical education programs for public community, state, and technical colleges, school districts and charter schools. Equipment funded through JET grants must be used to train students for jobs in high-demand occupations.
